Entrants who are under 18 years of age should obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian prior to participating. Employees, officers and directors of Discovery Communications, LLC (“Sponsor”), Discovery Education, its promotional partner, Elmer’s Products Inc., Promotion Mechanics, Inc. (“Promotion Administrator”), each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, TV production partners, advertising agencies, promotional suppliers and the immediate family members (spouses and parents, children and siblings and their spouses, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers and directors (collectively, "Sweepstakes Entities") are not eligible to vote in the Sweepstakes. All applicable federal, state, and local laws apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. 2. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on August 15, 2007, and ends at 11:59 PM ET on May 31, 2008 (“Sweepstakes Period”). Eligible entrants will vote for the school (an accredited public, private or parochial school in the United States that is organized and primarily operated for educational purposes, containing any class with students from Grade 3 through Grade 8) they want to win the prizes as described in Section 4 below. Prizes are awarded to winning schools and not to individual entrants. 3. TO VOTE: Visit www.discoveryschool.com/elmers and access the Sweepstakes voting page. The online voting form will ask entrants to provide the following information: their affiliation to the school, and the name and address of the elementary school (chosen from the list provided by Sponsor) for which they would like to vote. Votes must be received by Sponsor’s server by 11:59 PM ET on May 31, 2008. Eligible entrants may vote as often as they like, however each vote submission must be manually key-stroked by the individual entrant. Any use of automated or programmed methods of effecting entry online is prohibited and may, at the discretion of the Sponsor, disqualify an elementary school from participating in the Sweepstakes or receiving a prize. 4. WINNER DETERMINATION/PRIZES: Each school’s score will be calculated by taking the percentage of eligible votes submitted during the Sweepstakes Period to the school’s total student population (each, a “Score”). For example, a school with a population of 100 that receives 50 votes would have a 50% Score but a school with a population of 500 that receives 50 votes would have a 10% Score. The school with the highest Score will receive the Grand Prize: a trip for nine people (three teachers and three students, with each of the latter being accompanied by a parent/legal guardian) to attend the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge scheduled for October 2008 in Washington, DC. The prize consists of round trip coach air travel for nine people from a major commercial airport near winning school (as determined by Sponsor), double-occupancy hotel accommodations for 6 days/5 nights, admission to the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge, and ground transportation. Meals will be provided at Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge events. Total approximate retail value of Grand Prize is $21,660. Actual value will be determined by school’s location. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions. Air carriers, hotels and other transportation selected by Sponsor. Trip must be taken at time determined by Sponsor, in conjunction with the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. The winning school shall determine the three students and teachers who comprise the delegation. A parent/legal guardian must accompany each student on the Ultimate Science Fair Field Trip. All travelers (or parent/legal guardian if traveler is a minor) must execute a Release of Liability prior to ticketing. Travelers are responsible for any travel insurance and for all trip expenses not specified. The five schools with the next highest Scores will each receive a First Prize consisting of Elmer’s display products valued at $500and Discovery multimedia titles valued at $500, all selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The total retail value of each of the five First Prizes is $1,000. In the event of a tie for either the Grand or First Prizes, the prize recipient will be determined by a random drawing from among all such tied entrants. The winning schools will be announced on or about June 15, 2008 and will be notified by email, phone, postal mail and/or express mail at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Failure to comply with the Official Rules may result in the disqualification of a vote, disqualification of a school, or forfeiture of the prize in Sponsor’s sole discretion. If the prize is forfeited or not accepted in full, the school with the next highest Score shall be awarded the prize. Odds of a school winning will depend on the number of eligible votes submitted for a particular school relative to the total student population compared to that of other schools. Votes will be counted and the winning schools determined by judges designated by and under the supervision of the Promotion Administrator, whose decisions are final. 5.
